Dr Elizabeth Veitch

Liz Veitch is an adult Respiratory and Sleep Physician. She trained at Royal North Shore, Concord and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals, and has subsequently held consultant positions in Adelaide (Flinders Medical Centre and Daw Park Hospital) and Sydney (Concord General Hospital). She is currently a Senior Staff Specialist at Concord Hospital.
Liz has a broad general respiratory and sleep practice, encompassing Asthma and COPD, Pulmonary Infections, Lung Cancer, Pulmonary Embolism, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Sleep Hypoventilation Syndromes. She has a particular interest in Pulmonary Hypertension and Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD). She initiated a pulmonary hypertension service at Concord Hospital in 2004, and an interstitial lung disease service in 2014. She chairs the fort-nightly Concord Hospital ILD Multi-disciplinary Meeting, and she has been the Concord Hospital site principal investigator for 11 international, multi-centre trials of novel medications for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Scleroderma –ILD. She has ongoing research activity in this area.
Liz is passionate about medical education, and has been actively involved in this throughout her career. She was previously the Network Director of Physician Training for the Concord-Nepean Network, and she continues to engage regularly in medical student and junior medical officer training at Concord Hospital, with both training and supervisor responsibilities.
