Prof Jonathan Williamson is a respiratory and sleep physician trained in Sydney, interstate and overseas in Heidelberg, Germany. He is a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician at Liverpool Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer at Macquarie University Hospital. Prof Williamson’s practice covers a wide range of respiratory and sleep pathologies, including lung cancer, COPD, pulmonary infections, interstitial lung disease, asthma and sleep disorders and has specialised sub-interest in airway interventions, including rigid bronchoscopy, cryotherapy, endoscopic therapies for advanced COPD, airway stents and managing central airway obstruction. Prof Williamson convened the Interventional Pulmonology Special Interest Group of the TSANZ between 2015-2019 and chairs a subcommittee developing and implementing national guidelines for competence in respiratory procedures.
