Clinical Professor Claude Farah is an adult respiratory and sleep medicine specialist consulting at Macquarie University Clinic. His clinical practice focuses on the comprehensive assessment of respiratory symptoms, with an emphasis on delivering accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment plans. He has extensive experience managing general respiratory conditions including airways disease, lung cancer, and pulmonary nodules, and performs a range of diagnostic procedures including flexible bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).
In addition to private practice, Professor Farah is a part‑time staff specialist at Concord Hospital, where he has been a key clinician in the Airway Clinic since 2011 and currently serves as Medical Director of the Respiratory Laboratory. He is a member of the Australasian Severe Asthma Registry, a former Board Member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), and a past Convenor of the TSANZ Physiology Interest Group.
Professor Farah holds academic appointments at Macquarie University and The University of Sydney, where he contributes to teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision. His research interests span asthma, COPD, and advanced respiratory physiology. He completed his PhD in airway physiology and airways disease at The University of Sydney. Professor Farah has published widely in international peer‑reviewed journals, contributed to national and international consensus guidelines, delivered invited presentations at scientific meetings, and supervised PhD and postgraduate research students.
