Dr Matthew Ing is a Staff Specialist in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Liverpool Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer at Macquarie University Hospital. He has developed extensive clinical expertise through training at several leading tertiary centres across Australia, including the completion of his sleep medicine training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.
Dr Ing undertook a research fellowship in pleural disease at the internationally recognised Sir Charles Gairdner Pleural Unit in Perth, further advancing his clinical and research capabilities in this subspecialty. His practice spans the full spectrum of respiratory and sleep conditions, with particular interest in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, lung cancer, pulmonary and pleural infections, pneumothorax and sleep disorders.
He has a focused clinical and research interest in interventional bronchoscopy and pleural disease. Dr Ing is currently completing a Master of Philosophy at the University of Western Australia, with research centred on malignant pleural effusion and pleural infection.
