What is the NLCSP?
The National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) is a screening program using low-dose computed tomography (low-dose CT) scans to look for lung cancer in high-risk people without any symptoms. It aims to find lung cancer early and save lives. Screening for eligible people starts from July 2025.

The ELUCiD team will receive referrals for patients eligible to be part of the program.
For patients who return a positive screen as part of the NLCSP necessitating a referral to a respiratory physician who is part of an MDT, please refer to the information below.

Respiratory Physician
A respiratory physician (or pulmonologist) is a medical specialist diagnosing and treating diseases of the lungs, chest wall, and airways, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and lung cancer. They manage conditions affecting breathing, often specializing in sleep medicine as well.
Intervential Pulmonologist
Interventional Pulmonologists are experts in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including CBCT (cone beam CT-guided) bronchoscopy, robotic bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, pleuroscopy, biopsy techniques and full evaluation of airway conditions including nodules and cancer.
